Ear Candy Charity and Glendale Pawn & Jewelry Hosting Instrument Drive
Donations benefiting Valley schools & community partners


Ear Candy Charity and Glendale Pawn & Jewelry have partnered to gather greatly-needed musical instruments for Valley children. From July 22-25, Glendale Pawn & Jewelry will host an Instrument Drive® in hopes of collecting more than 100 instruments to be used by students Valley wide.


Many Valley schools are being forced to decrease or cancel their music programs. The musical instruments collected during the three-day event will be placed within area schools of need. As added incentive, anyone donating a gently used instrument during the event receives a free $10.00 gift card to Streets of New York restaurants - limit three gift cards per person.


Glendale Pawn & Jewelry will also donate a number of instruments from their personal collection.
Gently used instruments can be dropped of at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry, 6548 N. 59th Avenue, Glendale.

M&I Bank holding school supply drive

M&I Bank Arizona is encouraging residents to participate in a summer supply drive to help Arizona schools in need of school supplies.


The supply drive will take place during the entire month of July.

Residents can donate pens, pencils, paper, hand sanitizer and other school related items to local M&I Bank branches.

Princess resort sleepover deal to help schools

SCOTTSDALE - More than 30 northeast Valley schools and non-profit school groups have signed up for the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort's "Sleepover for a Better Tomorrow" deal that will funnel money back to the schools.

Parent-teacher organizations and non-profit education groups can sign up for free with the Fairmont. The resort is offering rooms at $129 a night, 25 percent off standard summer rates, through Sept. 6. After that, schools can continue to be enrolled and the resort will offer rooms at 15 percent off the standard rate.

The school groups get 10 percent of all dollars spent, including spa services and dining - as long as everything is charged to the room. When a school group signs up, the resort will give them marketing materials to spread the word.

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Community members are invited to view a unique photography exhibit by Peoria Unified School District (PUSD) high school students with the theme Share Your Story: A Visual StoryCorps Project. The exhibit can be seen from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., through the end of August in the lobby of the District Administration Center, 6330 West Thunderbird Road.
