Auditing planning is important because it allows the auditor determine his/her approach to the audit. You will find two factors that impact the approach: 1). Sufficient ideal evidence should be accumulated to meet the auditor's professional responsibility and 2). The cost of acquiring the evidence needs to be minimized. Concern for adequate appropriate data and expense necessitates planning the engagement. The plan should certainly result in a highly effective audit way at a reasonable cost.
